Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year; it occurs the day after Thanksgiving each year to mark the start of the Christmas season. Stores offer major sales, deals and door buster gifts to shoppers that come out on Black Friday to boost sales and allow shoppers to start their Christmas gift shopping. Consumers spend weeks each year waiting for stores to release their Black Friday ads, which typically does not occur until Thanksgiving morning when the sales ads appear in newspapers all over the country. However, the internet has made Black Friday shoppers happy by providing a plethora of websites that leak Black Friday ads weeks in advance so shoppers can start planning their Black Friday shopping route.

In 2011, one of the hottest gifts is the iPad. Electronics users everywhere are putting the iPad on their Christmas lists. While the price of the iPad is not inexpensive, Black Friday sales are offering the electronic device at discounted rates, which is practically unheard of for Apple products. Apple is known for not placing items on sale. iPad Black Friday 2011 deals have been kept secret thus far, but with the countdown to Thanksgiving day, the rumors will begin to leak.

At 12:01 am the day after Thanksgiving, Apple stores and other Apple retailers will open their doors to Black Friday shoppers offering the iPad for discounted prices. Apple, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and other Apple retailers are rumored to be offering steep discounts on a number of Apple products, including the iPad Black Friday 2011 deal.

In addition the iPad Black Friday 2011 deal, other deals include gifts for the everyone. Toys, clothing, and electronics are offered at deeply discounted prices; some beginning Thanksgiving Day. Many retailers are opening late Thursday night. Toys R Us announced that its doors will open at 9 pm on Thanksgiving night; though it doesn’t plan on releasing its Black Friday 2011 ad until the day before Thanksgiving but shoppers have a sneak peek at specials. Door busters include $50 gift cards with the purchase of an iPod Touch, and Power Wheels cars are marked down $120 until Friday afternoon. In addition to Toys R Us, other stores such as Macys, Kohls, Best Buy, Banana Republic, Gap and Target will also open at 9 pm Thanksgiving night.

Nearly 80 percent of Old Navy stores will open at midnight. This year, Gap is offering Black Friday shoppers $19 jeans and sweaters and $15 GapKids sweaters and fleece apparel until noon on Friday. Banana Republic shoppers will save 40% off their entire purchase until 1 pm on Friday and 25% the rest of the day. Walmart will open its doors at 10 pm on Thanksgiving night with deals on nearly everything in the store.

Shoppers that don’t finish their Christmas shopping on Black Friday – or worse, have to work – can still garner big savings by shopping all weekend or online. Most retailers plan to continue their sales, or at least other major sales, throughout the holiday weekend and online. Many are even offering free shipping on all items. iPad Black Friday 2011 deals aren’t the only ones being offered this year – almost everything on your Christmas list is being offered at a discount price at retailers all over the country.
